Member-driven network intelligence
Your network, fully visible.
Field techs troubleshooting a drop. Engineers watching a DDoS event unfold. Executives checking fleet health. OpIntel gives everyone at your organization a clear view of what's happening on your network.
Device support
Built for the gear rural broadband actually runs.
From Calix OLTs to Eltek power plants to the shelf in the back room that only speaks telnet. Most monitoring tools cover the routers and stop. OpIntel reaches the whole network, and this list is compiled from the collection running in production today, not a compatibility wish list.

Built by your peers, for your network.
NRTC is a cooperative too. Member-owned since 1981, we exist to serve rural electric and telephone cooperatives across America, not to generate returns for outside investors.
Every feature in OpIntel started as a real problem someone on a broadband team ran into. Member requests drive what we build next. No upsell, no features you'll never use.
NRTC handles the setup.
Data-collection hardware runs on your network and feeds OpIntel securely. You help us get access to your devices; we take it from there. We deploy the pipeline, infrastructure, and portal on your behalf, and your team opens a browser tab and starts working, with no integration project of their own.
Your data, captured securely and never shared.
We collect your network data with hardware you host, then move it securely into NRTC's cloud to analyze and deliver the service. We never sell it or share it with third parties. You're not the product.
A team behind every deployment.
OpIntel is a managed service, not shrink-wrapped software. New capabilities come from member requests, and changes specific to your deployment, including custom reports and views, are built for you by NRTC data analysts.
Your whole network. One portal.
Fiber endpoints, routers, switches, power systems, wireless gear. OpIntel works with the equipment you already have, pulls the data that matters, and puts it somewhere your whole team can use it.
ONT Fleet Health
Current status for every subscriber endpoint on your fiber network. Signal levels, uptime percentage, flapping counts, and BIP error totals refreshed every poll cycle. Click any device to pull the full subscriber detail view.
Traffic Analysis
Netflow visualization by category, protocol, QoS class, and interface. Filter down to a single subscriber or IP range. Zoom out to a 30-day historical view from downsampled flow data without losing resolution on what matters.
DDoS Detection
Automated attack detection with Sankey flow diagrams showing source country, ASN, protocol, and destination. Know you're under attack before your members call. Investigate from the same screen without opening a second tool.
Infrastructure Health
Interface traffic, utilization, errors, and discards for your routing and switching gear. Battery voltage, load current, rectifier output, and active alarms for power systems. One consistent view regardless of equipment type or vendor.
Alarms & Uptime
Active monitoring rules in a clean, readable view with per-instance muting and export. Heartbeat checks across your network show global uptime, latency trends, and downtime over time by vendor, topology, or location.
Subscriber Tools
A near-live map of your full subscriber fleet with online and offline devices plotted by location. DHCP lookup traces any IP or MAC address to its full association history across a custom date range. Built for support calls, field dispatch, and compliance requests.
More than device polling
Data in. Intelligence out.
Devices are only the start. OpIntel takes in data from across your operation, cleans it, joins it, and puts the result to work.
Every data source
Syslogs, DNS, DHCP, and netflow alongside device polls. Subscriber and billing data from your OSS/BSS, including NISC, MACC, and Innovative Systems, over secure SFTP drops, vendor APIs, and RADIUS accounting. Geo data to see it all on a map, plus power outage feeds, truck fleet data, and most anything with an API.
Cleaned, joined, enriched
We clean and normalize what comes in, then join network data with subscriber data so questions get answered at the subscriber level. Trends build over time across every data type. Additional custom analytics work is available for a fee.
Feeds your workflows
The assembled data can feed your other systems, alerting your staff, or even notifying subscribers about consumption and outages through tools like NRTC's Conversations messaging platform.
